Summer Goals List 2018 | More Radiance Blog | Goal Setting

Hey Friends,

Instead of the usual monthly to-do list post, I decided to share my summer goal list. This may be an unrealistic list of goals for the summer (considering my busy schedule), but it will be fun to see how many summer goals I actually accomplish! I’ve already begun working on several of them.

In June, I will be cutting back to just one blog post every Thursday. Just wanted to give you a heads up. My summer schedule will be too busy to post twice a week.

At the end of this post I want to hear all about your summer goals! If you have a whole list of goals like I do, feel free to send it to me via the contact page.

Now, here’s my summer goal list!

Summer Goal List 2018

Bible Study Goals

  • Study 3 Books of the Bible (One a Month) – This month I will be studying 1 Timothy and I hope to go through this study book which will help me complete my next goal…
  • Go through an Elizabeth George Study Book – Elizabeth George has some great study guides for various books of the Bible and they are incredibly helpful!
  • Finish Watching Loving God With All Your Mind – Another Elizabeth George study help, I need to finish this so I can return it to my mom!
  • Use my Prayer Journal Every Day – I don’t want to neglect my prayer life because of the busyness of summer.
  • Memorize Three Verses – One a month… keeping things simple.

Health and Beauty Goals

  • Drink Half a Gallon of Water Every Day – This is such a struggle for me! My goal is half a gallon a day!
  • Go for 2 Walks a Week – Whether it’s with my cousins or with my hubby, I want to get out and walk!
  • Stretch Every Sunday – Because of blogging, I sit a lot during the day. I want to follow a relaxing stretch routine each Sunday.
  • Take Vitamin D Every Day – Vitamin D is good for the skin, and for balancing blood sugar levels (something I need). I just need to remember to take mine! This is the kind I take.
  • Cut Back on Sugary Sweets – Enough said.
  • Wear my Retainer Every Night – Yes, I had braces… and yes I still need to wear a retainer at night!
  • Get a Hair Cut – I’m in desperate need of one!
  • Schedule Eye Doctor and Dentist Appointments for Me and Hubby

Homemaking Goals

  • Get the Porch Repainted – It needs it badly!
  • Buy Wall Map for the Living Room – My hubby and I love maps, so I want to find one for our living room. (I’m eyeing up this super cool wall map!)
  • Re-Paint Outdoor Lanterns (or buy new ones!) – We have cute lanterns hanging on our porch that need repainted or replaced.
  • Re-Decorate Living Room Shelves – Just recently I re-organized my books and put them on a new bookshelf. Now I need to redecorate the empty shelves that are left.
  • Put Glass Doors in Entry Way – We have these beautiful glass doors in our attic that can be attached to the entry way in our living room. I hope to have them put back up.
  • Finish Putting Stones in the Garden – Our front garden in almost complete.
  • Hang Pictures – We got the nails, we just need to hang some pictures! 🙂
  • Find Some Nice Chairs or a Bench for our Porch – On nice days it would be nice to sit outside and enjoy the weather!

Personal Growth Goals

  • Learn a New Piano Arrangement – I am not a good sight-reader, and it takes me a long time to learn new piano pieces. This summer I want to work on playing a new piano arrangement.
  • Read 10 Books – So far this year’s reading goal is going well but I want to stay on top!
  • Start Selling Earrings and Homemade Cards Again – I used to make and sell earrings and cards. I really want to get back into that this summer.
  • Write in my Journal Once a Week – My journal has been a little neglected lately. Summer is the perfect time to record all my summer adventures.

Blogging Goals

  • Blog Once a Week – I will be cutting back to one blog post a week for the summer!
  • Send Emails Once a Week – Are you signed up for my email list?
  • Reach 500 Instagram Followers – Help me with my goal! You can follow me here.
  • Reach 7,000 Pinterest Followers – Pinterest is the #1 source of traffic for this blog, and I just recently hit 6,000 followers.
  • Add New Items to the Shop – There are some fun ideas products planned for the Shop this summer.
  • Sell 5 E-Books Each Week – I am so glad I was able to write the Radiant Modesty E-Book. I hope to sell five copies each week (about 60 for the summer)
  • Plan Out all My Blog Posts for the Rest of the Year! – I have a blog editorial calendar that I use to keep track of all my blog post ideas. I am getting ready to plan out all my blog posts for the next 6-7 months!
  • Get a New PhoneI put this under blogging goals, because I need a new phone to get more blog tasks done “on the go!”
  • Double my Amazon Earnings – I am an Amazon affiliate and earn money by sharing Amazon products. This summer my goal is to double last summer’s earnings.

Social Goals

  • Spend a Day with My Cousin – My cousin and I are hoping to get together this summer… now we just need to work through our conflicting schedules!
  • Host a Girl’s Get-Together – It’s been a while since my last girl’s get-together. I hope to plan another one this summer.

Other Goals

  • Go Camping – My hubby wants to take me camping this summer. It’s been years since I’ve gone camping, so I really hope it works out!
  • Go Hiking – There’s a local hiking trail that I’ve been wanting to visit. Now’s the time!

Final Thoughts

I want to know! What’s on your summer goal list? 🙂

Quick Reminder: This Thursday I will be doing a modesty question and answer! If you have any questions about a modesty, dress, and appearance, send them to me right here. I will answer as many as I can in Thursday’s blog post!

See you on Thursday for another modesty post!

  1. Hi Rebekah!

It’s been nice to visit your blog again–I really empathize with your busy schedule, since it’s been keeping me from visiting the online communities that I enjoy so much!

This has been a tough year for me, and I’ve had quite a few struggles and felt discouraged a lot. But I think this summer is going to be a beautiful fresh start. I’ll be working a bit, mainly at my church and providing childcare for friends. I’m also traveling in June for some ministry work, which I’m very much looking forward to! My husband and I will be going to several weddings of family and friends as well.

    Here are my summer goals:
    1. Continue to improve my musicianship (on piano and organ) for my work with my church. I’m also working on a few hymn arrangements of my own; if they’re any good, maybe I’ll share them!

    2. Try at least 10 new recipes, and just generally try to vary up my cooking. I feel like every season I get into a rut with something and that ends up being the “recipe of the season”, but I really want to improve my cooking skills.

    3. Consistently keep the house clean every week. I live in an area of the US where it gets extremely humid in the summer, and if there’s dust or dirt, or if the cat litter is dirty for too long, I can just feel it sitting in the air. Ugh. I also plan to have someone come in and deep clean our carpets, because it’s gotten to be too much for my old vacuum to handle.

    4. Go outside more, especially on dates with my husband! I love to be outside and I’ve had several outdoor volunteer opportunities come up (working with rescue horses, playing with dogs at shelters, farm help, assisting with a local Civil War garden) and I just need to make sure I don’t get too busy to do that every once in awhile.

I hope your summer is filled with blessings! <3

    1. Hi Florence,
It’s great to hear from you! Being busy has it’s pros and cons. But a full life is a good one as long we take time for the Lord and our families! I hope you have a wonderful summer, and I hope it’s the “fresh start” you need. Although always remember to let God use the difficult seasons to mold you more into His Image!
Those are some wonderful summer goals. I hope you can accomplish each and every one – as well as learn and have fun along the way. Wishing you a joy-filled summer!
      Rebekah

  2. I love your summer goals! I can’t wait to see what else pops up on your Shop page. 😉

I just sat down this morning to work on making a summer goal list. Among other things, I want to do a study on economics from a biblical perspective, continue teaching my younger siblings piano, research videography, write a hymn arrangement, take each sibling out individually, have a Pinterest fast, go hiking, buy a water bottle + drink more water, and take new blog photos. I also put “go through + evaluate clothing” on my list but I took it off because I got that done this morning!! Yippee! I didn’t realize just how many shrugs I have… xD

    1. Hi Grace, those are some great goals! I hope you have a wonderful and productive summer. It’s hard to believe that summer is basically upon us! Enjoy!

  3. It will be only one post per week? :((
I can’t wait the summer to end to post more. 😄
    Thanks for sharing your goals!
Would you do a Q&A about you? 😊

    1. Yes, just one post… I might occasionally fit in two. I hadn’t really thought about that… But maybe sometime I’ll do a question and answer about myself!!
