May Favorites: What I’m Reading, Using, + Loving

Read my E-Book, Radiant Modesty, to learn how to embrace God's ideal for the clothing we wear!

Hello Friends,

I hope you had a wonderful month!

May was a whirlwind for us! For those of you who don’t know, my husband and I just started deputation for a church plant here in PA. We had four meetings squeezed into two weeks + a mini vacation with my side of the family! It was a fun and full month and we made so many wonderful memories. I hope to share a post very soon with pictures to share a little bit about deputation and our travels!

For now though, I am excited to share some of my favorites from the past month. As always, I hope you find something new and exciting among my favorites and be sure to share YOUR favorites with me in the comments! โ™ฅ

Let’s jump in!

May Favorites: What I’m Reading, Using, + Loving

Books and Such…

Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus

For the past several months, my husband and I have been listening to this book on audio. We were only able to listen to it for small snatches of time here and there. However, this month, we really made it a point to just sit and listen to this book together and finished it while we were traveling! Once we reached a certain point, it was really hard to stop listening as the book kept getting more interesting!

This book is the gripping story of a devout Muslim who eventually became a Christian – due to the influence of a Christian friend in college. It was very interesting to listen and hear how Nabeel worked through all the intellectual issues he had with Christianity and eventually came to see the Truth of the Gospel! We didn’t care for the part about his dreams and visions, but other than that, we loved the book and would definitely recommend it!

We listened to this book through audible, but Amazon also carries this book in paperback, hardback, and e-book form.

50 Things Every Young Lady Should Know

This was a fun manners/etiquette book I read while we were traveling this month. While this book is written from a secular perspective, it has a lot of helpful tips and information for young girls. Much of what I read I’ve already learned in the past, but it was still a great refresher in etiquette and common courtesies. The two sections I didn’t care for were on dating and dancing, but with that aside, it’s still a helpful book!

This would be a great book for mothers to work through with their teen daughters!

iBlog

I purchased the e-book version of this book several months ago – it was on sale and it’s also on my 2019 book list! I began reading it within the past month, expecting it to be a helpful (albeit typical) blogging book. I was pleasantly surprised to find upon starting this book that it’s actually written from a Christian perspective with Christian bloggers in mind!

Music, Movies, and Media…

Essentially You Podcast

This is a new (to me) podcast that I discovered earlier this month. It’s an incredibly helpful and informative podcast about women’s health and essential oils! I’ve already learned so much from Dr. Mariza and I know you will too! โ™ฅT

Snacks and Recipes…

Bubly Sparkling Water

I recently tried Bubly Sparkling Water for the first time – and ever since I’m kind of hooked. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I first tried the cranberry flavor and after the many flavors I’ve had, this one is still my favorite. Add just a bit of fresh lemon juice and it tastes simply amazing. Bubly water is also a much healthier alternative to soda!

Zellies Mints

My husband and I started eating Zellies mints after each meal, once we learned how amazing xylitol is for our teeth! These mints are sweetened with pure xylitol, so eating them after a meal helps prevent cavities and promotes healthy gums and teeth! Dental care is so expensive these days, and many people have all kinds of periodontal diseases. We want healthy teeth and these yummy mints give us a leg up in preventing problems! Did I mention they are super yummy too? ๐Ÿ˜‰ We have tried the cool mint and cool fruit flavors and enjoy them both!

Fashion from Around the Web…

(These are some cute items around the web that I’ve been LOVING!)

Casual Midi Dress With Pockets

I’ve been loving this dress ever since I first saw it! โ™ฅ This sounds like the perfect dress for summer… it’s made of lightweight material, has pockets, and the floral pattern is oh, so, cute! This dress comes in several colors but I am definitely partial to the pink!

Which color is your favorite? Let me know in the comments!

Charcoal Midi Skirt From Tickled Teal

Laidback Midi Skirt - Charcoal - Tickled Teal LLC

I purchased this midi skirt last month from Tickled Teal and I love it! I ordered a small although I probably could have gone a size up – it’s a little snug around the hips for me. To fix that, I just wore a longer top/blouse to hide the snugness. This skirt is very comfortable and the quality seems pretty good as well. For me, it was the perfect “comfy skirt’ for traveling this past month!

Leopard Print Sandals

If you’ve been following my blog for awhile, then you probably already know that I love leopard print! I found these cute sandals on Shein last week and I’m (impatiently) waiting for them to arrive! ๐Ÿ™‚ During the summer, I live in flip flops and sandals so I am sure I will be wearing these a lot this summer!

You can find out more about these sandals right here.

  1. I always love reading ‘favorites’ lists; such a good way to find new things that I might love as well!! This month I was introduced to the ‘Now That We’re a Family’ podcast and I’m loving it!!

  2. I love the dress and shoes! Thank you! Leopards are my favorite animals, that’s probably like the shoes. Lol!๐Ÿ˜Šโ™ฅ๏ธ

  3. The midi dress in pink is SO feminine. I also like it in sky blue.

I’ve been enjoying Spry xylitol mint gum for a while. It’s so refreshing, and I’ve always loved mint flavor. (Plus it’s natural.)
