August Goals (A Peek Into My Powersheets)

Read my E-Book, Radiant Modesty, to learn how to embrace God's ideal for the clothing we wear!

Happy Saturday, Friends!

It’s hard to believe summer is halfway over. This has been a wonderful summer, but Fall is coming and it’s my favorite! โ™ฅ

While July was a very busy month, filled with two trips, Vacation Bible Time, get-togethers, and more, our August calendar is rather empty. It will be nice to have a slow month as we prepare to travel again this Fall. God must have known we would need a break!

Looking back over my July goals, many of them got done and a few others were forgotten. Like those five books I really wanted to read? Only one actually got finished! Oh well… there should be more time for reading this month!

Since August’s schedule is rather empty – I plan to take advantage of it! There are some projects that need started (and finished) as well as even more books I hope to read. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I had so much fun working through my Powersheets this month. The weather was gorgeous one morning so I worked on them outside. Let me show you what’s on my “tending list” for August!

August Goals (A Peek Into My Powersheets)

Monthly Action Items:

Plan New Blog Posts and Blog Ahead – Last month I never got around to editing my blog editorial calendar. That needs to get done this month! Since we have more time at home, lots of writing should get done!

Plan our Anniversary Trip – In less than two months Adam and I will be celebrating our 2nd Anniversary! It’s gone by so fast but these two years have been the best of my life so far! We plan to get away for our anniversary this year since it will be the last one we celebrate before baby.

Organize Photos and Put Together Photo Books – It took me awhile to put together our wedding album, now all our other photos need to be organized and put in some kind of book or album. Photo books sound like the best and simplest option right now. (But if anyone has any other practical photo suggestions, please let me know!)

Email Pastors and Churches – Of course we are still contacting pastors and churches about meetings. Since my husband has a busy work schedule, this is where I can help. ๐Ÿ˜‰ We found out about a new deputation app that is helpful for missionaries and church planters so we plan to give that a try this month!

Take a Tech Break – It’s no secret that I love technology. Unfortunately, it often pulls me away from other things – like reading books! A three or four day tech-break is in the works for this month. That will free up some extra time to read! ๐Ÿ™‚

Catch up in my Journals – I keep two different journals… a personal journal and a question-a-day-journal. Both journals have fallen through the cracks (so to speak) and it’s about time to catch up!

Sell Extra Clothes and Books – There’s lots of de-cluttering going on around here. When it comes time to move, the process will have been simplified (I hope!). Instead of giving all the extra stuff away, my goal is to sell extra items online or at consignment shops.

Read Six Books – Well, here’s this goal again! Unfortunately, my to-read list always grows faster than my “finished” list. Many of the books I hope to finish this month are the same as last month, with a few new ones added in! Here they are:

To see what I actually read this month… you can follow my account on Goodreads!

Weekly Action Items:

Blog 2-3 Time a Week – There’s extra time for blogging each week in August. Coffee shop blogging days will definitely be happening!

Finish a Book (or Two) ๐Ÿ˜‰

Go Swimming – One of my favorite exercises. Summer will be over before I know it, so it’s time to take advantage of our grandparent’s pool while we can!

Journal – Once a week should be doable! G

I love both my journals… this will be my last year using the Q&A a Day Five-Year Journal!

Daily Action Items:

  • Devotions and Prayer
  • Take my Vitamins
  • Exercise
  • Read

    – Dig into the Word of God, prayer
    – Workout (3 times a week)
    – Create a list of healthy products (plantbased) and follow it
    – Learn about blogging
    – Rest before academic year (I am a teacher)

    Sincerely,
    your reader, Anna Kozmenko ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thank you, Anna! I enjoyed reading your goals for August… I hope you can get them accomplished as well as enjoy some rest before the new school year!

  2. Thank you for sharing! I want to read that pregnancy book before the baby is born. I really enjoyed this post!โ™ฅ๏ธ

  3. Oh my goodness, what a beautiful copy of Pride and Prejudice! It’s hard to believe we’re already in August! As far as photo books go, our family loves Shutterfly! Their books seem to work really well and they have a lot of sales. ๐Ÿ™‚ I love getting to peek into your goals! And that Q&A Journal looks really neat.

    1. Thank you, Aria… I found my copy of Pride and Prejudice at a thrift shop! Thanks for recommending Shutterfly – I have heard good things about Shutterfly and Snapfish. I’ll be looking into both for sure ๐Ÿ˜Š thanks again for sharing! โค๏ธ

  4. Pride and Prejudice… that book makes me smile every time I think of it! I read it for the first time last year, after hearing two young men I knew quite well fussing about how silly the girls were in that book! Til the end of the conversation I wasn’t sure if I wanted to read it or not! ๐Ÿ˜‰ But I did, and I really enjoyed it! I did get sick of the 2 younger sisters, but I loved the main character! Anyway, congrats on your baby news!! My sister-in-law is due about the same time you are, and we are super excited about welcoming another niece or nephew! Blessings…

    1. I’ve been enjoying it as well! I’m about ten chapters into it. I can see what you mean about some of the girls ๐Ÿ˜‰

Aw thank you! And congrats to your sister-in-law! How fun โค๏ธ

  5. Congrats on your baby news! My daughter is expecting her second child in January. I’m very excited for another grandchild. She will find out the gender of her baby in three weeks. Please pray that it’s a boy! Her first child is a girl.๐Ÿ˜Šโ™ฅ๏ธ And I love your goals!

  6. I am reading Pride and Prejudice this month as well! My husband and I are heading up to my family’s cabin for a long weekend and I’m excited to use the time for extra reading – as well as time away from our phones and computers!

    1. Oh that sounds like so much fun! Enjoy your time away… Hope you get lots of reading, relaxation, and fun during your stay!

  7. I find it so inspiring to read your monthly goals! I actually decided to write some of my own goals down in a new planner/journal this month instead of attempting to remember them. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for the idea!

The goal of reading more is such a good idea. I’ll need to begin Literature for my Junior year in High School in about 2 weeks, so I should do some more “fun reading” in the meantime. “Pride and Prejudice” is also on my list for my Literature this year! Has it been good?

    My Goals this August:

*Send a package to a friend and a new Mother. ๐Ÿ™‚
*Do some “relaxing/fun reading” before Summer ends.
    *Blog more often.
*Run each day with my sisters.
    *Memorize more verses.
    *Finish writing a book.

    Thanks for the inspiration again!

    -Annie

    1. Thank you, Annie! Yes, it absolutely helps to write down your goals and then review them often so you don’t forget them! It’s something I’ve been doing for a long time – and I enjoy it too!

Yes, Pride and Prejudice has been good! It’s not quite as gripping as modern fiction, but that’s to be expected. There are plenty of comical moments to keep it interesting! ๐Ÿ˜Š

I loved reading your goals – thanks for sharing!

  8. I’ve been setting goals for a couple of months now, so it’s been really helpful to read your goals! I’ve been needing to do some photo organization too but just haven’t done it. I have a lot of digital files that I want to print but I’m just not sure what to do with them! Also, I would love for you to do a post or maybe talk on your Instagram stories about how you prioritize time for reading! Or maybe you already have ๐Ÿ˜‰ I really wish I could read that many because there are always so many I want to read! But it seems that if I read too many, I don’t “take it in” as much, if that makes sense lol

    1. Glad these posts are helpful to you! That’s one reason why I write them (I enjoy reading other people’s goals) so I figured there must be others who feel the same!!

I’m in the planning stages of a blog/Instagram reading challenge, so you can expect to hear a lot more about books in a couple weeks! โค๏ธ

  9. Great goals for August! I am planning on de cluttering my room (I live with my family), regulating a better sleep schedule and exercising in the mornings! And I’m very excited about your little one’s arrival!

    1. Those are great goals – I hope you’re able to get them all completed this month ๐Ÿ˜Š And thank you – we are excited too!
