Sometimes it seems like every week is the same. To-do lists are created, goals are set, and every week I look back on what I accomplished and think, “I am not getting anywhere!” I get frustrated with the constant urge to do this and do that. I should be organizing, exercising, blogging, writing, drinking water, stretching, reading, working more hours, eating clean, trying this recipe and that project, taking more photos, practicing this skill, and learning that one. It’s overwhelming.
Can you relate?
We live in a time of overload. Opportunity overload and information overload. We are pressured to do so many things. How can we keep up? How can we do it all? Where should we start?
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness…” Matthew 6:33
Personally, I need to remind myself of this verse over and over again. If we seek God and know Him does it really matter if we ever get to do all those other things the world says are important?
God must come first. Our main goal in life should be to seek Him and Him alone. This does not mean we should throw away our to-do list and forget about all those “other” things. But it does mean we shouldn’t get overwhelmed and frustrated in the pursuit of them. In the constant struggle to BE and DO we all need to remember what really matters. God must come first.
The best thing you can do today and for the rest of your life is SEEK HIM.
What will you do to seek Him today?
He is waiting for you and He wants you (and me!) to seek Him! It’s the BEST thing you could ever do in your life!

Thanks, Rosa! I’m glad you found this post encouraging… have a wonderful weekend 🙂
I can totally relate to that first paragraph! All of those things are on my to-do list that I am terribly behind on. Thank you for the reminder that it’s not the checkmarks that matter, but the purpose of seeking God.
Yeah, I like to think I can do a little bit of everything…then I get overwhelmed when I get behind! It’s nice to know we’re all human and can’t do it all! 🙂
Thanks for commenting!
Wow, I love this so much. Such a great reminder that in the midst of wanting to do everything and make everyone happy, just slow down and make sure that God is always first. Thanks for writing

Great reminder to seek God in all things and remember that He is in control.
