I don’t know about you… but now that it’s summer… a nice long swim sounds absolutely perfect for these hot days!

Growing up, my grandparents lived in an old Victorian-style town house with a very large in-ground swimming pool in the backyard! As you can imagine, my siblings and I spent many summer days at our grandparent’s pool. We were rarely bored during the summer, thanks to summer reading programs and our grandparent’s giant pool. While my grandparent’s no longer own that wonderful house, we still have fond memories of summer holidays, picnics, and parties spent by the poolside.

As a little girl, I was used to dressing in baggy shorts and dark t-shirts for our swimming adventures, but as I’ve gotten older, I’ve been looking for something a bit more modest and feminine.

I found a baggy pair of short-like culottes from Blair (here’s a similar pair) that I tried during our last off-season trip to the beach. Unfortunately, they’re a bit short for my preference… especially when I’m moving around, swimming and playing Frisbee (or whatever game we choose to play by the water).

My sister-in-law recently came to the rescue by sewing me a swim-skirt complete with leggings underneath for extra coverage! I can’t wait to try those the next time I go swimming!

It’s nice enough to wear out in public for a walk or even a run to the store. My husband commented that he was surprised at how nice this dress looks!

So, on our last trip to the lake, I wore my swim dress and got a photo for all of you! The dress has almost full-length sleeves, but since we were walking on a hot night, I rolled them up a bit!

This dress IS expensive if you choose to purchase directly from the shop. However, Undercover Waterwear also has some other options that aren’t quiet as expensive as this particular dress. I requested this dress simply because it was my favorite.
