Hey Friends,
One of my favorite things to do every year at Christmastime is curl up with a good Christmas book or story – especially by the light of the Christmas tree!
Today, I want to share some of my favorite Christmas books that I have read over the past few years. I hope you will choose one of these festive books to read this year! I would encourage you to make it your own little tradition to read some sweet books at Christmastime.
I hope you will choose one or two of these books to read this Christmas! Here are my favorites:
5 Books to Read This Christmas
1. Christmas Stories for the Heart
This book is a compilation of sweet and heart-warming Christmas stories. I read this book over the course of two Christmases several years ago, and simply loved all of the stories. From old Christmas tales from long ago to sweet family stories and Christmas “miracles” this book is perfect to read during the month of December. Because this book contains short stories, you could read a couple each day or sit down and read several all at once. This is definitely a book to have in your Christmas collection!
I absolutely love reading about the women of the Bible but it’s especially fun to read about the Women of Christmas. This book talks about the lives of three very special women – Elisabeth, Mary, and Anna. I read this book a couple years ago and I remember learning so much!
If you love studying the women of the Bible as much as I do – then you will love this book!
I was so excited to find a copy of Christmas with Anne several years ago at a thrift shop. I loved reading the Anne of Green Gables series as a teenager, and this book is just as sweet as the rest. Surprisingly, Anne doesn’t show up in this book too often, instead it’s a compilation of Christmas stories that take place in Avonlea. Throughout this book you will recognize some familiar characters and you will meet several new ones as well. If you love L.M. Montgomery and the heart-warming stories of Anne, then you will love this book!
Last December, I had to stay home from our Church’s Christmas caroling because I was fighting a cold and just not feeling well. I remember sitting in bed surrounded by tea cups and tissues reading this book. This story was intriguing, captivating, and tear-jerking all at once. Set during World War II, this is the story of a struggling mother who just wants the best for her sweet baby. The twists and turns in this book will surprise and captivate you! If you’re looking for a sweet little novel to read this Christmas, I would recommend this one!

This book is an old Christmas favorite from my childhood. I love this sweet book because the illustrations are beautiful, the story is inspiring and heart-warming, and best of all – this book points you back to Jesus Christ the true meaning of Christmas. While this book is written for children, adults will enjoy this story just as much. The Crippled Lamb is a must-have book for your Christmas collection… especially if you have children!
>>> This book was also turned into a really sweet Children’s movie!

Until Next Time,
We love The Crippled Lamb! It’s a family favorite! My favorite Christmas book is a collection of 6 short stories called Wind Chimes by Victoria Minks! I met her several years ago and she is such a sweetheart. This was her first publication and I can’t recommend it enough! Victoria was actually the one who inspired me to write my Christmas Novella, Coffee Shop Christmas. Definitely check out her book!
There is a beautiful story “When Santa Learned the Gospel” by Simon Camilleri. You must watch the animated video at https://www.santagospel.com/index.php/the-story/ I watched only half of it and immediately bought five copies of the book! I am also reading the new Sinclair Ferguson advent devotional “Love Came Down at Christmas” only four days in of course but very good. PS I love The Crippled Lamb too, makes me cry!
You should read A Better December. It’s a short but very sweet book written by my uncle, Steven Estes. It’s about the true meaning of Christmas and stress relief for the holidays. I strongly recommend! I love your blogs by the way!
