I sincerely desire to be a radiant young woman and I hope you do too. But what does a radiant young woman look like? Is her radiance external, or does it shine from within? What is it about her that sets her apart from the world? There are many traits that a radiant young woman possesses but there are three that really stand out.
3 Traits of a Radiant Young Woman
1) Confidence
One of the first things that sets her apart is confidence. However, her confidence is not arrogant or conceited. Neither is it based on anything of her own, whether it be beauty, possessions, popularity, or talent. Her confidence is found in Christ, what He’s done for her, and who she is in Him. A radiant young woman is confident in Christ.
“For the Lord shall be thy confidence…” Proverbs 3:26
2) Beauty
The beauty displayed by a radiant young woman is not physical. Her beauty shines from a beautiful heart. One that is full of genuine love and kindness. Her true beauty is seen and felt by all. Her beauty is true and genuine. A radiant young woman is beautiful on the inside.
“But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.” 1 Peter 3:4

3) Joy
Her joy is different than happiness. Whereas happiness is often based on circumstances and things, her joy is found in her Savior. She goes to Him for joy when happiness is nowhere to be found. Joy flows out of her heart to touch those around her. A radiant young woman is full of joy… from the Lord.
“Thou hast put gladness in my heart…” Psalm 4:7

Personally, I am far from always being confidant, beautiful, and joyful. While learning how to live with more radiance, these three traits can be a starting point for you and me. Each day we should ask the Lord to help us cultivate these traits in our lives. By becoming more radiant we can shine brighter in the lives of those around us.
