My Goals for May 2017 + a Recap

Hey Everyone,

Is it really May? Already? April flew by really fast- and things just keep getting busier!! But thank goodness I’ve been learning to “roll with it” a little bit better. I’m going to jump right into my goals today – here is what I wanted to accomplish last month, and here’s how it went…

  • Stay on top of my planning – Last month I did a much better job keeping track of things. I kept a weekly to-do list and then created each of my daily lists based off of what I needed to accomplish that week (plus anything else that came up in the meantime). It was a big productivity boost for me!
  • Exercise by taking the stairs – I didn’t get to do this 4x a week, but I did fit it in here and there. It really is a quick and effective workout. (It’s boring so I usually listen to something or watch videos on my iPadΒ while I climb up and down.) πŸ™‚
  • Drink more water – I’m getting there. Some days I drink a lot of water, other days I forget and only manage a few sips. When I am with my fiance’, he reminds me to drink water and that helps a LOT. πŸ˜‰
  • Go yard sale “shopping” – Done! I got to go the other weekend with my parents. It was a lot of fun being with them both (I get sentimental sometimes knowing I’m soon moving on!). I was super happy to find a comfy pair of black flats, a couple things for the wedding, and some other random treasures. I’m looking forward to the next free Saturday that I can go again!
  • Visit local crafts shops – also done! My best friend and I had a blast exploring a large craft warehouse in our area. We didn’t buy a thing but we took pictures and made mental notes about the items we need for the wedding. I also got to visit a new-ish craft shop with my mom.
  • Make headway on my blog project – And… the ball is rolling. You will be hearing more very soon!

Before I share this month’s goals, let me just say, the Proverb’s 31 Woman is definitely one of my top role models. I love how she manages everything so well. This month I want to follow her example of rising early, being productive and industrious, and being a strong woman, physically, emotionally, and mentally. With that being said, here are my goals for the lovely, beautiful, and busy month of May!

My Goals for May

  • Continue to use my planner and stay on top of things. No explanation needed here. Let me just say that when I plan things out properly, things get done and I stop feeling like such a failure in the area of time management!
  • Use my mornings and evenings wisely. I might begin working full time at my brother’s warehouse this month. Whether that happens or not, my mornings and evenings are very valuable. Thankfully, I’ve been training my body to go to bed and get up at the same time each day. I feel much better as a result, and I have been a whole lot more productive too. Some evenings I have a really hard time getting things done, so I want to work on that as well.
  • Find shoes for the wedding. The bridesmaid dresses are ordered, and my dress is being altered, now we just need to find our shoes! I know Β exactly what I want for myself and the bridesmaids, we just need to go out shopping and find them!
  • Organize my Sunday School material. I recently finished going through the book The 21 Tenets of Biblical Femininity in my Sunday School class. Now we are doing a new series, but I have lots of papers and notes that need organized and filed away for future use. Speaking of my Sunday School class, there is also a fun activity planned for them this month. πŸ™‚
  • Plan and cook 2 meals a week. My mom has been trying to get me cooking more often (I wonder why πŸ˜‰ ) and it just hasn’t been happening. I need to plan these meals into my week and get busy cooking! Since I work away from home about 3 days out of the week, crock pot meals are my favorite! (If you have any really good crock pot recipes, please let me know in the comments!)
  • Finish my blogging project and share it with everyone! I am soooo exciting about the project I’ve been working on! It’s coming together and I hope to finish and release it this month. πŸ™‚ Keep watching the blog for it!

That’s Almost Everything

There are a few more things happening this month, as well as some things I want to get done. We are traveling south for my fiance’s graduation ceremony (Woohoo! I can’t wait to see my Handsome Man graduate – I am SO proud of him!). I hope to take advantage of the 10 hour drive to get some reading (and maybe some writing) finished. I really need to work ahead for the coming months. There are Sunday School lessons, blog posts, and VBS preparation that needs done – and if I can get those things done ahead of time it will be a HUGE help. Anyways… enough about me already!

  1. Wonderful goals! There are three birthdays in May for us (2nd, 9th, and 19th) so we’ll be celebrating those. On Sunday, Daddy is going to start talking about baptism at church until June sometime. We are hoping to have several people baptised in June when our home pastor comes! πŸ™‚

What are you colours for your wedding? And when is the exciting day? πŸ™‚ I hope everything goes as planned!

Here’s a really nice crockpot recipe for you … it’s called cowboy casserole! πŸ™‚ http://www.familyfreshmeals.com/2013/08/cheesy-crockpot-cowboy-casserole.html
    And it’s very tasty!
    And another one: http://www.cookingclassy.com/slow-cooker-broccoli-cheese-soup/?utm_content=buffere62e6&utm_medium=social&utm_source=pinterest.com&utm_campaign=buffer
    This is very nice!

    1. That’s great – I hope you have fun celebrating all those birthdays!! And I hope many saved people will be baptized in your church. Speaking of church – I was just at Emmanuel Baptist church last night, and I believe it is one of your supporting churches ☺️
Our wedding is in the fall, and the colors are navy, mulberry, and gold ☺️
Thanks so much for the links to the crockpot recipes… They sound delicious!!!

      1. Thank you! We had two in April as well to celebrate! πŸ™‚ Haha! Loads of people we know love being born in April and May for some reason! πŸ˜›
Yes, they are! That’s exciting you went there! Did you meet Brother Brubaker and his wife?
Oh what lovely colours! Fall weddings are the best! πŸ™‚

        1. Oh yes!! Brother Bru is great – I met him the last time I visited Emmanuel. My fiancΓ© went to Emmanuel while he was in college and he loves the Brubakers!!

          1. They are the sweetest couple! πŸ™‚ Did you get to hear him the piano, accordion, or trombone? πŸ™‚

  2. April went by way too fast! And now May will probably fly right by too lol I’ve got some wedding things to take care of too, and that has been keeping me busy! And busy is good for me right now πŸ˜‰

    1. Yes, I think May is going to fly by as well – glad you are keeping busy too!! So when is the wedding? It’s your sister’s wedding right??

  3. April flew by very fast, I can’t believe that the first week of May is already over!
You have amazing goals… Can I ask you what planner/diary do you use? And what’s your opinion on bullet journal? πŸ™‚
My goals for May are very similar to the ones for April. But the number #1 is to deepen my relationship with the Lord. I want to continue studying my Bible and making notes, and also pray more. I am that kind of girl that easily turns away from God and fall into sin within day or two and then uneasily comes back to Lord in tears… It’s like roller coaster, once up, once down. It’s exhausting, but I have to fight the good fight of faith and don’t give up πŸ™‚ I’m so grateful for Jesus’ help and grace He has with me!
And I will join to you and mention one more goal for this month: bake more! I love baking and I love to try new recipes… Yum!
Wish you all wonderful May full of blessings and Lord’s glory!
PS Tomorrow we will celebrate the end of WW II… I’m SO thankful that it’s over and I pray that our mighty King will come back soon and reign!

    1. Hi Hana!
I actually made my planner. It’s a small, white, three-ring binder. I just made a pretty cover and some dividers out of scrapbook paper and craft supplies. And, I buy paper for it at Walmart. It works pretty well for me πŸ™‚
I’m glad you want to deepen your relationship with the Lord. Don’t give up -remain faithful to His Word and prayer! He will honor your desire to seek after Him πŸ™‚
Enjoy your baking! I love trying new recipes – especially now that I am getting married in the Fall πŸ˜‰
      Have a lovely May! β™₯

  4. Hi!

My April was not great, I honestly felt at my lowest point – confused, scared, and far away from God. However, in a matter of a couple weeks, things are looking up – and it has 100% to do with God’s grace.

For this month, my goals are to pray without ceasing and praise Him for all He has done for me these last few weeks – and for my whole life, really. I also want to join a community group through my church, as I have felt a strong need for communion with other believers lately.

I just wanted to add, I am fairly new to your blog and I love it! Pretty aesthetic, and such beautiful encouragement on here!

    1. Hi Emily,
Sorry to hear you didn’t have a very good month. Just remember that things can always get better πŸ™‚ Keep seeking the Lord, immersing yourself in the Word of God! Keep praising Him and remembering all the blessings He has given you. It really helps when we focus on the good things!
I’m glad you have found my blog – I hope it is a blessing to you and I hope it helps you draw closer to the Lord.
      Rebekah
